THE MIDNIGHT DEVILS
NEVER BEG FOR IT
In Store Now!
Never Beg For It — the electrifying 2nd album from The Midnight Devils — originally dropped on July 1, 2022, produced by none other than Chip Z’Nuff and released via Pavement Music. Bursting with glam-infused rock ‘n’ roll swagger, the record delivered fan favourites and radio-ready hits including the high-octane Highway 69 and the irresistible Working for the Weekend.
From start to finish, Never Beg For It is a bold statement of unapologetic style, hard-hitting hooks, and the kind of anthems made to be played loud.
In 2024, The Midnight Devils signed with MR Records, and together they set out to re-deliver this Devils classic — Never Beg For It — in a stunning Jewel Case edition. We’re thrilled to announce it’s available now via the MR Records website, and from the band themselves very soon.

The Midnight Devils.
Described as a glam, slam, boogie woogie rock and roll band, The Midnight Devils have been carving up the Sunset Strip for a number of years now, taking ass and kicking names the whole time.
Following the success of their debut album Something Bigger, The Midnight Devils enjoyed a renewed wave of success, taking glam rock into the homes and ears of a new generation of fans still satisfied with the Golden Era of glam.
With the recently released follow-up Never Beg For It – produced by the legendary Chip Z’Nuff from Enuff Z’Nuff – The Midnight Devils have promised to redefine the way the world listens to glam metal, taking it to the next level in the process.
Bass player/vocalist Sam Spade joined HEAVY to talk about the album.
“The response has been overwhelming,” he smiled. “The album was produced by Chip Z’Nuff and released under Pavement Entertainment, so it’s our first official release on a major label, and the response has been overwhelming. The single Highway 69 has been getting love all over the world and the record label is happy. We released a video and a single for Working For The Weekend – a Loverboy cover – and people just love it. It’s funny, it’s a blast, it’s a party. It’s exactly what rock and roll is supposed to be.”
The title is pretty self-explanatory, but could also be directed at a number of different situations. The only way to know for sure is to ask.
“It’s a really tongue in cheek kind of thing,” Spade laughed, “but let me tell you the title actually came… We were sitting there hanging around with Chip, recording the record before we even decided on a name, and he’s sitting there smoking a joint – and it’s seven papers long – and he’s like bro, you need to tell these people, tell them you’ve got a record coming out on a national label, you’ve got a world tour in the books, let me tell you one thing you never do. You never beg for it bro, tell her that.”
In the full interview, Sam talks more about Never Beg For It, the musicality of the album, runs through a few of the tracks and explains the story behind them, working with Chip, what he brought to the sound, the new age of glam metal, coming to Australia and more.
